Olivia is a compassionate nurse who shines through in challenging situation. She stays calm, supports her team and patients and their families during these situations. Recently, we had a patient transported to the cardiology clinic from a care facility that was in an unresponsive state, he was a long-standing patient in the cardiology clinic and a DNR. The team responded to the patient in the waiting room as soon as medical transport drop him off, The patient was DNR, so there was not a lot of medical management the team could do. Olivia rose to the occasion to ensure the patient and family were provided dignity and the family was comforted without the worry of reaching out to make arrangements. Olivia worked with the house supervisor to transport the patient down to the ED to the view only room, the family was able to use this space, while Olivia helped call the funeral home to help with arrangements, so family didn't have to worry about this during the state of grief. Olivia is an exceptional nurse who we are so grateful to have on our team.
