A patient nominated Mr. Daniel Emah for the DAISY Award. Mr. Emah was able to make the Veteran feel safe during his hospitalization by allowing him to share stories while compassionately listening to him. Mr. Emah was able to restore nursing confidence in the patient when he was feeling discouraged about his health care.
