Today, our unit was extremely busy, with 12 expected discharges and just as many admissions. In addition to being the charge nurse, Meghan also wore the hat of Nurse Ally because our unit's nurse ally was on vacation. In addition to already wearing those two hats, at 3 pm, one of our nurses left, so Meghan took over her six-patient assignment. She took over the assignment and still had to discharge six more patients as Nurse Ally. Wearing her three hats, she still managed to have a smile on her face and made sure everyone on our team was OK, constantly asking if anyone needed help or if there was something she could do for any of us. In the five months that I've been here on MS2, this was by far the busiest day I've seen, and Meghan led our team brilliantly, like the DAISY Award Nurse that she should be. Job well done, Meghan!
