Due to electrical issues during the night shift in the L&D Ors, Veronica seamlessly coordinated the moving of the operating rooms six stories down to the main OR. This was an impressive feat, considering it took working with anesthesia, surgical staff, and surgeons and coordinating moving supplies and specialty equipment. She worked with facilities, electricians, and higher-ups to fix the original problem, all while additionally managing the staffing of 4 STAT c-sections, an entire unit, and continued to maintain patient safety. Throughout this entire experience, she maintained professionalism and a positive attitude. She is an incredible nurse who goes above and beyond for her patients and the entire unit.

I am nominating Veronica for a DAISY Award because she always goes above and beyond for her patients and colleagues. She is always running up and down the halls, helping nurses and doctors and CRNAs! Every time she is a charge nurse, she makes sure everybody gets their full uninterrupted break, calls to make sure you're okay during a busy shift, and always makes sure you know she has your back. Tonight, our OR went down, and she coordinated with the whole team while she was recovering from being sick with a lost voice. She is an excellent charge nurse who can collaborate with any team member with respect and always being herself. When I came back to the floor from the main OR for my second C-section, the first thing she asked was if I was okay and to let her know what I needed help with. During a stressful shift, she is always the light at the end of the tunnel. She is the most caring nurse on the shift, always helping and putting a smile on everybody's face.

Veronica always goes above and beyond when in the most stressful of situations. During the shift, she calmly navigates through OR logistical issues to ensure patients receive timely and appropriate surgical care. Her demeanor is calm for all nurses working with her. It is always a pleasure working with Veronica.
