There wasn't a dry eye during his Honor Walk. The scene involved the patient being covered in an American flag during his Honor Walk while the hallways were lined with RCH staff waving their flags.
Lindsey always goes above and beyond for her patients. Oftentimes, she even decorates the patient's room for their birthday with birthday signs she personally purchases for the patient! This week, Lindsey had a One Legacy patient who served 5 years in the military as a Marine. He was a fairly young patient who, unfortunately, had a neurological disorder that led to his condition of being an eligible organ donor. Lindsey worked with another nurse to gather flags throughout the hospital departments so that everyone who lined up for the Honor Walk would be able to wave a flag in his honor. There wasn't a dry eye during his Honor Walk. The scene involved the patient being covered in an American flag during his Honor Walk while the hallways were lined with RCH staff waving their flags. Lindsey even took the time to ask her husband to go to the store to purchase additional American flags for RCH staff to wave in his honor. She provided the highest form of dignity to the dying to a young American veteran who made the decision to be an organ donor at the end of his life.

She also advocated for the family of this patient, who flew in from North Carolina to have board and lodging after his scheduled organ procurement procedure. Lindsey understood that the family was scheduled to fly out immediately after the patient was scheduled for this procedure due to financial reasons, and she went above and beyond to help them have a place to stay after this emotional time. She understood the gravity of having to rush on an airplane after saying goodbye to a loved one due to an unexpected organ donation, and she helped them have one night to recuperate through the help of One Legacy.

This is not the first time Lindsey has provided such wonderful compassionate care to her patients and their loved ones. Her work is exceptional and she herself brings honor to her department and the entire nursing field. She is the epitome of what a nurse should be and more!
