She had us join in a circle around the bed, holding hands while she said a prayer for him “to help him cross over the bridge.”
My father was hospitalized for a very brief period of time after he had fallen at home. He sustained a pretty severe head injury, and the prognosis for his recovery was not good, so we, as a family, my mother, my two sisters, brothers-in-law, and grandchildren all decided that it was best to withdraw care. He was 91 years old and lived a good, fulfilling life.
Ellen was very kind and made sure we had everything we needed during the time we were at his bedside before and after he passed away. She had us join in a circle around the bed, holding hands while she said a prayer for him “to help him cross over the bridge.”
That gesture will forever hold a special place in my heart and my family’s hearts. I feel she is in the right profession and really cares about what she does on a daily basis.
