Because of her actions, attitude, and demeanor I felt like she truly cared for me and my situation and that I wasn't just the patient assignment for the day.
I was in the ICU at the Northwestern McHenry Hospital for blood clots in my lungs. Kylie was my day shift nurse. I would like to nominate her for an award because, simply stated - her care, compassion, empathy, professionalism, knowledge, and dedication to her job are hands down unmatched by any other nurse whom I have ever had interaction with. I have been hospitalized a number of times over my sixty-eight years of life, and during my Police Officer career, I encountered and interacted with many nurses.

Kylie outshines every other nurse I have ever met. Her compassion for me and the members of my family was outstanding. Because of her actions, attitude, and demeanor I felt like she truly cared for me and my situation and that I wasn't just the patient assignment for the day.

As the entire care that I received from her was all outstanding, it is hard to pick out one situation or story to tell but I guess a good example would be as Kylie ended her shift she stopped in to say that while she was scheduled to work the next day - she thought she might be assigned elsewhere. She wished me good luck and health and encouraged me to get well soon. The next morning, Kylie walked into my room well before her shift was to start. She was indeed assigned to work elsewhere but she made the special effort to come in early to check on me. She asked how I was doing, checked the bandaging on an incision I had and again wished me good luck and health. Outstanding, compassionate care!
