Rachel is committed to helping us at any time, even outside of work hours.
We are grateful for Rachel Wubben's leadership and dedication to the OB department. She always supports us during emergencies with her hands-on approach. Rachel was an OB nurse before becoming a manager, so she knows how to help us in any situation. She creates a positive work environment by treating everyone with respect. She also encourages us to grow and use our strengths, which makes our unit successful. As one of us said, "She treats every nurse, patient, and coworker with respect. She does not make us feel like she is superior, but rather an equal."
Rachel is committed to helping us at any time, even outside of work hours. She is very organized and efficient, as she showed during the preparation for the move to a new unit. She opened three units in one day, which amazed us. One of the comments was, "What blew my mind is how she kept it all straight! It takes a very organized person to achieve opening 3 units in one day!" Rachel's problem-solving skills make us feel safe and confident in our work.
Rachel's leadership was vital during the move to the new bed tower, where she showed trust, respect, and optimism. She worked with different people to make sure our unit's needs were met and handled daily tasks and unexpected issues with professionalism. She used her critical thinking skills to deal with the complexities of the move. One shared, "Rachel demonstrated amazing problem-solving and critical thinking skills while handling the construction crew, BioMed, maintenance, logistics, hospital leadership, vendors, Joint Commission, nurses, physicians, and certainly many more."
Rachel is a strong advocate for us, understanding the functions of the Labor and Delivery, SCN, and postpartum units. She communicates our concerns to leadership and makes sure our needs are prioritized. Rachel is approachable and dedicated to us, making her an outstanding leader. One expressed, "Rachel is always accessible, available, and responsive to the needs of our team. You know you can always go to her."
