Kaleigh was caring, compassionate, patient, and empathetic.
Kaleigh was my grandma's ICU nurse a few times during her 3 weeks stay and was also her nurse the day she passed away. Kaleigh was caring, compassionate, patient, and empathetic. My family is Vietnamese and not familiar with the medical field/terminology. We also have never had a family member pass away. Kaleigh made us feel that my grandma was in good hands and that she truly felt sorry for my grandma’s declining condition. Kaleigh probably answered questions and repeated herself at least more than 4-5 times to different family members regarding comfort care, blood pressure, medications she was administering, etc., but Kaleigh never got frustrated, was very professional, and was genuinely sincere and empathetic.
We had about 12 family members in my Grandma's ICU room, which I know did not make her job easier, but she never made us feel like we were in the way, or unwelcomed. Kaleigh kept my grandma consistently clean, all the pads were changed constantly, throughout her day as she was slowly passing. We are also Catholic and placed statues of Mary and the crucifix on my grandma’s chest as she was dying, Kaleigh always asked prior to moving the statues, stating "I don't want to get it dirty, or move it wrong." She was so respectful. We came up to the hospital with news that my grandma would pass that day, and Kaleigh told my aunt she was my grandma's nurse for the day, and my aunt was so happy and relieved it was Kaleigh.
After my grandma passed away and we left the hospital, Kaleigh came out to say bye to all of us in the elevator, which meant so much to my aunt. My whole family is so appreciative that she was the nurse who took care of my grandma. As an Integris employee, I just want to recognize how GREAT she is. She went over and beyond, but it just seems like that is her character. Thank you so much, Kaleigh!
