We couldn’t possibly put into words how much Kayla means to us, but I’ll do my best. My nana was in the Burn Unit for five days, I know this doesn’t seem like a long time, but nana is the glue to our family, and this was quite the scare for all of us. It was a house fire, and Nana had to be intubated. We were scared and not sure what the next few days would look like. Kayla was with us from the first day to the last and is the model example of what a nurse should be to their patient. She was kind and nurturing, she treated my nana like family, and she made sure we understood everything that was happening as it was happening. She didn’t get annoyed at questions and went above and beyond in every possible way. We will never forget the care and affection she showed all of us, but especially Nana. Kayla, we will never forget all that you did. You’re an exceptional nurse and an even better person. You are in our hearts, and you’ll be considered family for the rest of our days. We love you Kayla, thank you for everything.
