Brittany Moncada is one of those nurses you pray to God you will have if you ever need one! I am very thankful she was my nurse. I am always surprised at the kindness of strangers, and in this case in particular, because of Brittany’s stellar nursing skills and her kindness towards me and my husband during our stay. I was clearly afraid when I arrived and began to cry. Brittany was right by my side, saying, “Don’t you worry, we are going to take good care of you.” My husband was in shock when Brittany had to add bumpers to my bed since my condition could lead to seizures. She explained exactly what she was doing and not to worry. You would think that nurses would be tired of handling patient’s problems and questions, but Brittany was very patient and answered all 500 of my husband’s questions without hesitation. Nursing is such a thankless job, and it involves doing all manner of duties that are messy and feculent. It was a testament to Brittany’s character when we asked for her name and how to commend her to the supervising nurse; she responded, “No, you don’t need to do that. This is my job!” It is obvious by how she brought up my Phenergan from the pharmacy, so I wouldn’t need to wait for three hours like the 1st time when I was already sick to my stomach. The pharmacy was busy and short-staffed. I can’t begin to tell you all of the large and small acts of kindness Brittany showed us during our stay, but I am so grateful she was my nurse!
