Tina is a dedicated professional who cares deeply about improving the quality and sustainability of care for the elderly population at UCLA. She collaborates with a team of health experts to innovate the delivery of care for geriatric patients.
Tina is a passionate leader who has spearheaded the development of the geriatric infrastructure for UCLA Health. This is a huge undertaking that requires dedication and vision. She has shown both in her efforts to improve patient outcomes for the geriatric population at UCLA. This population is one of the most vulnerable and often overlooked. She is not just a leader, but also a connector, a motivator, and an inspirer of others. She demonstrated her commitment to improving patient outcomes in the geriatric population by establishing UCLA Nurses Improving Care to Healthsystem Elders (NICHE) in 2016. This is where her journey started and where she changed the way people view our elderly in hospital settings. She used a comprehensive therapeutic goal-setting approach based on evidence-based guidelines and clinical disease management.
Tina has dual certifications as a geriatric clinical nurse and a geriatric nurse practitioner, and she uses her expertise to bring innovations to UCLA. In 2016, the Frailty Project SPICEs, a screening protocol that identifies risk factors in older patients and alerts nurses to initiate care plans. By detecting vulnerability and providing appropriate clinical intervention, She collaborates with a multidisciplinary team.
Tina is a dedicated professional who cares deeply about improving the quality and sustainability of care for the elderly population at UCLA. She collaborates with a team of health experts to innovate the delivery of care for geriatric patients. They uphold the values of dignity, autonomy, and preferences of the elderly and work hard to meet their needs. The team has achieved a significant transformation in the way the healthcare team provides care for the elderly population at UCLA.
She is a driving force to raise and bring awareness to the international day of the older persons, which was acknowledged at UCLA. She has her own family of three generations that demonstrate the resilience and values that elderly people can positively impact a family.
I have seen Tina escort nurses unfamiliar to my area with such great support and compassion. I have called on her from time to time to discuss concerns, and Tina has always listened and provided support. Tina has made remarkable contributions to the field of nursing and the quality of patient care. She has led innovative projects, published influential papers, and mentored many aspiring nurses. Her achievements are not the end of her journey but rather the milestones of her ongoing commitment to excellence and innovation. She is a role model and a leader who will continue to shape the future of nursing and health care.
