Beverley went above and beyond and made the effort to get her out of bed for a shower to wash her hair. This meant a lot to her as her hair is an important part of maintaining her dignity and identity.
My grandmother had a long stay admission to the Acute Older Persons Unit and was finally discharged back to her usual residence yesterday. Throughout my grandmother’s admission, Beverley provided support and exemplary care to both my grandmother and my family. She took time out of her busy shifts to ensure our family was kept informed of changes and progress with her medical condition. Due to medical issues and difficulties progressing with physiotherapy, my grandmother went quite a long period having hot towel washes in bed. Beverly went above and beyond and made the effort to get her out of bed for a shower to wash her hair. This meant a lot to her as her hair is an important part of maintaining her dignity and identity. She was understandably tired but appreciative of Beverley's efforts to help her feel dignified during such a difficult time.

During a very emotional time for my family, Beverley made a special effort to support us.

Her compassion and genuine care for her patients are admirable, and she is an asset to the organization. She is a brilliant role model and displays the core values of the THS with compassion.

She truly deserves the commendation for her outstanding care of Geriatric patients at the RHH.
