We have a patient who needs IV meds several times per day, and we have gone through every vein - twice. Just when we thought we might be on our last available site, we called to see if Kristin Stump would consider coming to the hospice house to place a PICC line so this patient could continue to receive his medication to keep him comfortable through end-of-life. She graciously came to the Hospice House and brought all her supplies, plus an assistant, with her to help the patient. An ambulance ride back over to MGMC would likely have triggered severe seizures in this patient, and by coming to him, she saved him from the stress and anxiety of ambulance transport. This truly shows she's putting the patient first and doing what is right! We're so thankful for her time and talent in helping our patients stay as comfortable as possible.
