Tess Asuncion picked up extra shifts this week as we are very short-staffed. Despite having her own patient load, she provided compassionate and personal care to my patients, including one man who was severely ill and confused. She had taken care of him before, and her presence calmed him. She ensured he got up in the chair for respiratory health and was incredibly caring. This is just one example of Tess's teamwork, compassion, and knowledge. She has taught me many things since I started on the unit. She is patient, helpful, fun, and focused. I am so grateful to be on a team with Tess, and our patients and unit are better because she is here.
