Sarah Gates was the midwife who delivered my second daughter five years ago, and she has also supported me throughout my third pregnancy. I really cannot thank her enough for all the help and advice she has given me. Upon meeting her when I was in labor, I was petrified and convinced I wanted an epidural, but there wasn’t time. However, Sarah was quick to reassure me and talked me through everything as it progressed quicker than everyone thought! She deserves the world for putting up with my attitude throughout the delivery. She was so calm! Then, in my third pregnancy, she was more amazing than possible. We had a few complications during the pregnancy, and Sarah was so supportive, helping me to understand situations and why they might be happening. Our third daughter was born by emergency C-section, and although Sarah was not working that night, she made sure to come and visit as soon as she could, offering us invaluable support advice and a shoulder to cry on if we needed it. I do honestly think Sarah is amazing at her job, and Bedford Hospital is extremely lucky to have her. I cannot thank her enough for everything she has done for us. Just knowing she was a phone call away from my crazy questions really did mean the world to me. I am honored to call her my midwife.
