My sister has severe special needs and is nonverbal. She has a favorite book that we leave with her and read to her when we come in. Leela Siafa read my sister her book the first morning she met her to get to know her better. This was before my mom and I got there, and it was so above and beyond anything I would ever expect from a nurse! Leela said she really lit up and engaged with her when she was reading it! She has also given her excellent care and has been extremely thoughtful and responsive. It is so difficult to have a loved one in the hospital who cannot speak and to know that she has caring and loving staff with her when we can't be here is such an amazing gift! I am so thankful and hope Leela will be recognized for her kindness and compassion!
