I underwent a very intense spine surgery... my fifth one. It was complicated and took close to ten hours in the OR. It included removal of old hardware, revision of previous fusions and extended fusions – now fused from sacrum to T-10. The pain afterwards was the worst I had ever felt, and it was hard for the doctors to get it under control. They moved me to SICU to administer very intense pain meds. I was still in tears most of the time while fighting the pain. Formeka Taylor was at my bedside doing everything she could to help me through this painful event. Above and beyond care – she calmed me with comforting words, cool rags to my head – checking to make sure I was pushing my pain-med button. She has one of the greatest bedside manners I ever encountered. You have an asset on your team – her name is Formeka. 

The entire staff was fantastic, and she stood out – head and shoulders above the rest. I felt compelled to write this, so you know what a fantastic nurse you have on your team. Never once did she waiver from doing her duties with a smile and warmth toward me – and I’m sure I wasn’t the easiest patient to care for. When I think of a perfect nurse – her name now comes to mind. I am lucky to have had her as my caregiver during one of my most painful procedures. A true angel – Formeka RN.
