Me, my husband and my parents were on vacation from The Netherlands when my dad was picked up with the ambulance from our hotel because of breathing problems. He was taken to the ICU where they had to tell him he had lung cancer. My dad had to stay in the ICU for two weeks before he was able to be taken home by air ambulance. Unless they had to give him bad news and he didn’t speak English, they did everything to make him feel comfortable. They succeeded in every way! Not only my dad, but also my mom, my husband and I felt so welcome, calm and comfortable. They did everything they could. Unfortunately, my dad died after two weeks in The Netherlands. We are still in contact with the mentioned people through Dana Fricker - she is the best! In September 2024 we will return to Cookeville, without my dad but with my sister. We are going back to CRMC and we want to make a contribution to the best caring people. They already arranged a brick in the memorial garden of the hospital on their expenses and that is so special to us.
