Cindy stayed almost 2 hours late on this day in particular. During that time, she kept her patients safe, comfortable, and smiling.
Cindy is JPS proud and shares her pride with all those she comes in contact with. She is a QBA and works tirelessly to ensure that all patients we serve are heard and understood in their native language. Cindy speaks Spanish and has the credentials to translate for patients who come to JSCA. She strives to make every patient experience great and provides her patients with competent, compassionate care every day! Cindy gains her patients' and coworkers' trust by showing up ready to help wherever needed. She receives more WOWs than any other staff member at JSCA! Her WOWs come from patients, patient's family members, physicians, her coworkers, and her leadership team. She is recognized daily and is the epitome of our values of Trust, Mutual Respect, Excellence, Integrity, Accountability, and Teamwork!

Cindy's patients always have a smile on their faces, and it's due to Cindy's positive, kind, caring, and compassionate gift she displays in treating them. She is an extremely safe and talented nurse who always puts others' needs above her own! Many of our patients will stop me to tell me how great her care is when I am on the floor. She treats every patient how she would want herself or her family to be treated!

Cindy sets her patients up for success each and every day! She reviews their chart thoroughly in pre-op and when she is in PACU as well. She gets her bedside set up with any items she might need specifically for each patient. She does not have a "one size fits all" mindset when caring for her patients. She tailors her care to each and every patient based on their needs, and they show great appreciation to her for it. She never utters the words, "That's not my patient," and frequently stops to help others as she walks by their area if she identifies a need or sees them struggling.

Cindy address each and every patient courteously and respectfully. She introduces herself and explains the particular care that she will be giving and goes out of her way to make them feel comfortable. She calmly reassures patients as they are waking up and helps them to get reoriented quickly and is patient with them if they are sometimes confused or combative. She knows that anesthesia can cause different people to react differently and has effective strategies that she employs in each situation. She makes it look easy!

Cindy had a very long day in the PACU in the not-too-distant past. Two of her patients' families did not follow instructions and left the facility prior to their surgeries being completed and were unreachable. This led to a significant delay in the patients being discharged from JSCA. Cindy kept a positive attitude and calmly worked to find the family members to come and pick up their loved ones. Cindy stayed almost 2 hours late on this day in particular. During that time, she kept her patients safe, comfortable, and smiling. When the family members arrived, Cindy had the same positive and kind spirit and discharged the patients as she would have any other. She did not show any displeasure to the families for not following the rules and causing her to have to stay late. Cindy has a home and family that she loves very much, but she did not bemoan having to say late! She tackled it with grace and compassion! Cindy is a superstar when it comes to customer service and teamwork!
