I am writing to nominate Nellie Peavy, RN, for the DAISY Award for her exceptional care during my recent medical experience at Dr. S’s office. Nellie treated me not just as a patient but as a fellow human in need of emotional support.

During one of the most stressful and emotional times of my life, she consistently demonstrated incredible bedside manners and empathy. She became my rock, keeping me calm and grounded with her reassuring presence. Her kindness was evident in every interaction. She took proactive steps to ensure my emotional well-being, even advocating for me with my doctor to ensure they understood my circumstances. Nellie went above and beyond to ensure my comfort, offering me a shoulder to lean on and an ear to listen to when I needed it most. I truly feel supported and seen, and I can’t praise Nellie enough. She exemplifies the qualities of compassionate and dedicated healthcare professionals, and her care made a significant difference during a challenging time for me. I also want to extend my gratitude to her nurse manager for overseeing such remarkable individuals.
