She was clear and concise and explained everything to me. Sarah was such an exceptional nurse with her kind and confident, demeanor and ears always ready to listen and never judge.
Sarah Bottazzi is the most amazing, knowledgeable, compassionate, and skilled nurse I have come across in my years as an inpatient and outpatient, with numerous types of procedures, including childbirth and sepsis (needing three weeks of ICU).
When I was admitted to the surgical floor of the kennel, division of NYU Langone Health recently, I was in excruciating pain, discomfort, and was struggling with so much fear and anxiety, not knowing how significant my intestinal surgery would be. Sarah is a patient and kind nurse who knows exactly what she’s doing and knows how to take care of me from the physical pain to the apprehension.
Sarah understood my medical records and understood the condition for which I needed surgery. She took control of the situation and was a calming force and made sure that I was prepared in the best possible way to have it accessible surgery but that is just the beginning.
After surgery, Sarah was there waiting for me and ready with two other nurses to make sure that my first 48 hours were going to be as best as possible in terms of healing, recovery, and emotional state.
It is important that I explain that I am not your everyday 59-year-old patient with two teenagers. I lost my NYPD lieutenant husband to his 9/11 illnesses only 2 1/2 years ago, and I was in a terrible state worrying about my children’s future, which was a pain equally as searing with each true physical pain that my gallbladder and bile duct stones were causing. Sarah always seemed to be by my side when I needed her, and she had eyes behind her head. She was clear and concise and explained everything to me. Sarah was such an exceptional nurse with her kind and confident, demeanor and ears always ready to listen and never judge.
Sarah also looked at me as an individual person and worked around my specific pain and suffering. I have the most horrible pain in my shoulders from laparoscopic surgery, and she understood that and how it needed to be dealt with. Sarah let my body and my mouth be the conduit to her reactiveness, exceptional attention to detail, and receptiveness to my needs as a patient. I was really very sick and Sarah deserves accolades and accommodations for the way in which she rose to the occasion and made sure that I would be home with my family as soon as possible.
Sarah, thank you so much, and May God Bless You for pursuing a professional career that saves lives. You gave 1000%, and for that, I am eternally grateful.
