Raúl is a thoughtful person. He always showed compassion in his work and communication, which caught our attention. We felt affection for him and said, "This young man has a noble soul."
Dear Raúl Rodríguez:

I am writing to you during a difficult time, as I am grieving the loss of my mother. As you can imagine, these are moments of great pain, but I am at peace. When I learned about this program, I did not hesitate to dedicate some of my time to it.

My mother was hospitalized for an extended period, and among the 17 nurses who took care of her, Raúl stood out. He was an exceptional nurse who always treated my mother, family, siblings, aunts, and me with great respect, patience, and tolerance.

Raúl's personality shows that he is serious, but his work is exceptional and speaks for itself. He never forgot anything. If you asked him for something that could be resolved at that moment, he did it without hesitation.

The work of a nurse can be routine, which can affect their attitude. However, with Raúl, the days passed, and he always maintained a positive and kind attitude. He always greeted us and asked how the family and my mother were doing. He did not focus solely on doing his job but also paid attention to small details.

Raúl is a thoughtful person. Sometimes, patients or family members have difficult personalities when they are under pressure and see their loved ones dying. In those moments, when there were many questions or stress... I knew Raúl had many things to do at the same time, but he never lost his calm or patience. He always showed compassion in his work and communication, which caught our attention. We felt affection for him and said, "This young man has a noble soul."

Many medical staff members entered the room. My mother was afraid of them and wouldn't answer their questions. She only answered family members, besides us she always answered Raúl and smiled, like she did with us. What does this tell us? That an 88-year-old patient who cannot see (my mother lost her sight) relies on what she perceives, the manners, the tone of voice, and the care that was provided to her. That's how she determined who her true allies were and who she could trust.

I am eternally grateful to everyone, especially Raúl. That's why, despite my mother's critical condition, I took the time to write this by hand (since nobody writes by hand anymore). I hope that, for the sake of these nurses, Raúl can be placed in a special position where he can share the way he works. He is an exceptional human being, a world-class nurse, and a person who wins your trust and heart.
