My dad (patient) went home Saturday evening after they removed all the drains. My mom has a really bad knee, and her other one is not great either. She was having terrible issues with it that day and had to park in the parking garage because there wasn’t any parking available on the lid outside the ED and no street parking. It was a really long walk for her because she had to enter through the ED entrance, and she was about in tears by the time she made it to my dad’s room.

When they were discharging him, she was beside herself, wondering how she was going to get back to her car to come pick him up. She never called my brother or me as we were at their house getting things ready for my dad’s return home. One of your nurses, Kimberly, got a wheelchair for my mom and pushed her as far as she could to the other end of the hospital by the garage so my mom didn’t have to walk that whole way. Walking across the street was doable for her. I’m so grateful for Kimberly’s kindness and for going the extra mile to help my mom when she needed it, even though she wasn’t the patient
