Rosie has helped me become a better nurse and a more efficient team player, which, in turn, has helped the thousands of patients who come through our doors.
I have worked in many different hospitals in many different regions over my career, and I have never had a boss as exceptional or compassionate as Rosie. She has gone above and beyond every single day and has become a leader that I know has my best interests at heart. I can count on her to advocate for me in every situation, whether it ranges from patient care issues to navigating difficulties between departments. Rosie also displays a calm and reassuring presence even when I storm into her office, overwhelmed and frustrated. Rosie has supported me when I've gone searching for new educational opportunities and has been the loudest cheerleader for everyone in the cancer center. Rosie has helped me become a better nurse and a more efficient team player, which, in turn, has helped the thousands of patients who come through our doors. She never hesitates to get involved in any project where her assistance is needed, whether it is tackling template changes or calling insurance companies to investigate a process flow, and I have personally seen her go outside of her job responsibilities on a daily basis to help the staff help the patients get what they need. Specifically, Rosie helped me in a time of crisis when a former coworker and patient ultimately passed away due to cancer. She was able to get me in touch with senior leadership so that I could share the specific process struggles that we were facing in this case, and she took time out of her day to comfort me while I was grieving. I am truly indebted to Rosie's leadership and guidance, and the cancer center could not be the place it is without her. I cannot think of a single other person more deserving of recognition.
