Patty is literally one of the best RNs I have ever worked with in my entire career. Patty is always patient-focused and comes to work every single shift with a smile, patience, and compassion. Patty displays very great de-escalation skills and respect for her patients. I remember we had a patient who arrived on a physician's certificate and Patty contacted the family speaking in Spanish to update the family on the patient. The family kept hanging up on staff due to Spanish-speaking needs. Patty was fluent in Spanish and assured not only the family, but the patient in Spanish. Patty did not resort to a restraint for the patient's agitation. Patty analyzed WHY the patient was in a negative mood and what the disconnect in communication was. Patty's fluency in multiple languages shows her ability to understand and engage with her patients. Patty secured the patient and secured the family like a compassionate and understanding nurse. This is a typical shift when Patty is working, and the amount of respect Patty has gained due to her work ethic projects across all staff.
