The best way to describe this nurse is a breath of fresh air. When they entered the room, they had a calming and joyous energy that permeated their patient. My husband had been a living donor when he experienced his incision from the donation surgery opening up, all while out of town and in Atlanta. We live out of state, and it was so scary being rushed into emergency surgery. All the doctors, nurses, aides, and hospital workers were amazing. We always felt we were in great hands and well cared for. However, having this person as our nurse for 2 of the days we were there left the greatest impact. They explained clearly and concisely every procedure they were doing, the medicine they were giving, and the reasons behind the treatments my husband was given. They responded promptly and attentively to our needs and went above and beyond to make sure their patient knew he was heard and that he mattered. What he experienced was so scary and hard, but this nurse was able to comfort not only him but us. They were able to make a very difficult situation easier, and for that, we got to have peace of mind. I can’t express what that meant to us other than to say in the moment, and even now, it was everything. Thank you for being our DAISY!
