Ms. Mo's leadership can, at times, be silent, calling on her colleagues to be better and do better because our patients deserve the best. It may come in the form of a question regarding an upcoming case, indicating that she not only has been thinking ahead but also has a great depth of knowledge.
While on call this past weekend, I took the time to read the criteria for the award and immediately thought of Ms. Mo. I wrote a letter of commendation to our CNO over a year ago, recognizing Ms. Mo for her efforts above and beyond the call of duty. I am so delighted to be able to nominate her now. Working with and recognizing Ms. Mo's effort goes beyond seeing her hard work and recognizing her preparation for the busy day in the OR/PACU/Pre-op of OSC. One has to interact with her daily through the regular day to understand the level of professionalism with which Ms. Mo carries herself, the level of compassion that she offers her patients regardless of their story, and to understand the level of attention to detail that she has when working with her team.

She is an inherent leader by example and word. Her leadership does not sound like someone barking orders or pointing fingers. Rather, Ms. Mo's leadership can, at times, be silent, calling on her colleagues to be better and do better because our patients deserve the best. It may come in the form of a question regarding an upcoming case, indicating that she not only has been thinking ahead but also has a great depth of knowledge.

Over the past year, after the loss of our head nurse in OSC, Ms. Mo stepped up, even before she was asked formally, to lead the pack and ensure stability. She did so with grace, ease, and skill.

With this quiet, powerful, and motivating leadership, I know that Ms. Mo affects all of us (surgeons, nurses, patients, etc.) and pushes us to be better. I am grateful for that and believe that her efforts are worth calling out loudly.

Thank you for considering Ms. Mo for this most-deserved award. She is a true DAISY Nurse.
