In a world of uncertainty, sterile equipment and hurried routines, Dylan brought a much-needed touch of humanity to the ICU.
If there's one thing more terrifying than a loved one in the ICU, it's the fear of them being alone, unseen and unheard. Thankfully, in our experience, Dylan Newman shattered that fear entirely. From the very first interaction, Dylan embodied the essence of a truly exceptional caregiver. His compassion extended not only to my mother, but to our entire family. He took the time to explain, in clear and understandable terms, the complexities of my mother's condition to our family and her, even though she wasn't responsive in the moment. This level of communication instilled a sense of trust and partnership in her care that we wouldn't have had otherwise. Dylan's care went far and beyond explanations. It was evident in the way he diligently tended to my mother's and family's every need; his every action imbued with a deep empathy. He treated her not just as a patient, but as a person deserving of the utmost respect, care and dignity. In a world of uncertainty, sterile equipment and hurried routines, Dylan brought a much-needed touch of humanity to the ICU. He is a shining example of what compassionate nursing care truly looks like. We are eternally grateful for the exceptional care he provided to my mother during such a critical time. If you are looking for a nurse who goes above and beyond, who prioritizes both medical expertise and genuine human connection, then look no further than Dylan. You're in great hands! He is a true asset to the ICU Team.

Dylan Newman was my dad's nurse in ICU on dayshift. My dad had been diagnosed with terminal cancer a couple years prior and this specific admission was the one we were all told there was nothing more the physicians could do, and it would be best for my dad to transition to hospice/comfort care. I am a critical care nurse and have worked on CIC for five years. Dylan is truly one of the best nurses I have encountered. The day Dylan had my dad, I wasn't physically present but was told by family that Dylan had a student with him and came in to bathe him. At this point, the decision had been made to transition to comfort care in a day or two after my sister arrived from overseas. Dylan and his student took their time to give him a good head to toe bath and then proceeded to spend a significant amount of time cleaning and paying special attention to his feet. My dad hadn't been mobile in months due to a tumor on his spine and had been in a rehab facility prior to this admission. His feet had accumulated scales, dead skin, etc. The day before Jesus was marched to his death, he took the sandals from each of his disciples, and he washed them. This is all I could think about when I heard what Dylan had done for my dad. The sentiment from Dylan that he probably didn't even realize would touch such a special place in my heart made such an impact on me, I had to share. I have worked across the hall from Dylan for several years. I knew he was a good nurse, but now I know firsthand that he is truly one of the best.
