Her actions made me believe that she was sincere and empathetic. She helped me through a very, very frightening time.
I was admitted with a chemical burn caused by an acidic acid. It is a shocking, unbelievable situation. I was in a shocking condition. I was in excrutiating pain; indescribable pain. I knew nothing about this. I was scared to absolute death. I had never been in this serious condition before. Fear had overtaken me. I needed empathy and quality care. I needed to believe that someone cared about me and really wanted to help me. A student nurse volunteering her time to work and learn became one of my caretakers. She was concerned, caring, compassionate, and had empathy and a great attitude. She was positive and had good communication skills. Her actions made me believe that she was sincere and empathetic. She helped me through a very, very frightening time. She gave of herself. She represented this hospital and herself in an exemplary manner. She will be, and is, an excellent nurse. I won't see her anymore, but I will not forget her.
