This nurse was AMAZING!!! She was my mom’s nurse for 3 days on the burn unit. So often we talk about the negative aspects of healthcare, but this woman embodied the positive aspects of healthcare – simply people caring for people. Her patience during my mom’s confusion really made me smile. As a fellow nurse myself, so often, nothing changes your perspectives until you yourself become a family member!! 

So often, you wonder if your nurse actually “cares.” With Houda, there was no question. She advocated for the family to stay with Mom without us asking because she saw the calm it brought to my mom. She took time and patience to show my aunt how to do my mom’s dressing, and she even made my mom’s love of Steve Harvey and Family Feud a part of getting her to take her medicine!!! This nurse was a God send to our family. 

Thank you for allowing us to have her become a part of our family, albeit briefly… she made our stay so much better and I was always relieved to see her. She went above and beyond for us, even requesting to have us on her extra shift, because SHE wanted to be the one to discharge my mom. She is a great nurse who needs to know that the awesome care she showed us did not go unnoticed. Thank you so much Doctors Hospital!!!
