Not only did she come right back in, but she stayed until 8:30p and assisted staff in many ways, such as translating for the mom.
She worked 3a-3p on Friday – about an hour after she clocked out for the week, the unit called her and asked if she would be able to come in and translate for a Hispanic mother who was admitted to the unit and having a stat c/s at 28/5 weeks gestation. Not only did she come right back in, but she stayed until 8:30p and assisted staff in many ways-translating for the mom, explaining the c/s process and why it was happening, translating and explaining to the family about the transfer process of the preterm infant to CHN NICU. She definitely went above and beyond for this family and our dept. After I was made aware of the good work she did, I immediately reached out to her and thanked her over and over. Her response was, “I wish I could have stayed longer!” She started with CHA as a new grad. It has been amazing, and watching her grow as a nurse is an honor. She is one of the most compassionate and caring individuals, and it is an honor to be her leader!
