She gave him a bath, clean sheets, and rubbed him with lotion. This was the first time Dad actually stopped his tremors and got some good rest.
My dad is in ICU for a time after having stents put in and then showing signs of a stroke. This turned out not to be a new stroke but a kidney issue. He was unresponsive to verbal commands and in a total care situation. All care given has been top notch, but Cesya stood out to me. She had a very gentle, caring touch and voice with Dad. Although nonresponsive, she explained every move she was making to him. She gave him a bath, clean sheets, and rubbed him with lotion. This was the first time Dad actually stopped his tremors and got some good rest. Even as she turned him on his side every couple of hours, she was so gentle and genuinely caring that he would go into restful mode immediately. She asked every time in the room after caring for Dad if there was anything she could do for me. She stopped by Dad's room on her next work days to check in on him. She wasn't his scheduled nurse, but she heard he had made improvements and wanted to encourage him. She is truly the sweetest nurse with such a calming effect on not only Dad but also made me feel at ease. She is a blessing to the nursing profession.
