She provides care in an outstanding and dedicated manner. She shows compassion and kindness to this patient population.
Alexis joined the team as a resident nurse in 2023. She has now completed her residency and has developed into the kind of nurse any patient would like to have. The objective of the training for our WINSHIP oncology nurses is to have a cross-trained and well-rounded specialist oncology nurse who brings care to the patient. To do this, the nurse should be trained to take care of the oncology patients' needs. This includes all aspects of care, be it surgical oncology, radiation oncology, medical oncology, chemotherapy as well as supportive care. Alexis has trained to be an exemplary nurse who has been able to specialize in all aspects of care, including Chemotherapy /biotherapy administration and Peptide receptor radionuclide therapy (PRRT). PRRT is a targeted treatment for neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) that uses radiation to destroy cancer cells. It's a type of radionuclide therapy that combines a radioisotope with a somatostatin analogue, which attaches to the tumor cells. The treatment is administered intravenously. She now precepts other nurses for this therapy. She provides care in an outstanding and dedicated manner. She shows compassion and kindness to this patient population. She is even-tempered and never complains. She always puts the well-being of her patients first, as indicated in the attached card from a patient. She is a pleasure to have as a member of the 16th-floor multidisciplinary team. For these reasons and more, I, as her manager, would like to commend her on this nomination. Thank you.
