I don’t exactly know how she manages to find the perfect balance between professional, personal, dignifying, efficient but never rushed – all while being warm in a way that can be described as a “professional nurturer.”
Angela Owen celebrated her 30-year anniversary with Novant Health which speaks to her loyalty to the organization. We were lucky to have her transfer to Ballantyne in the spring of 2023, bringing her years of experience and knowledge to help open the new facility. Since opening, Angela has received multiple patient recognitions in satisfaction surveys for her kind and compassionate care. A patient surprised staff with lunch for the care she received during her breast cancer surgery. She talked about Angela as her PACU RN and asked if she could be her recovery nurse again for her upcoming 2nd surgery.
A patient took the time to write an email regarding her care during her surgery experience at Ballantyne and sent it to executive leadership within Novant Health. This patient received care at several healthcare systems, and she stated that by far Ballantyne was the best hospital experience she has ever had. The patient had the following to say regarding Angela: Specifically, however, the pre-op and recovery nursing team were really the most exemplary experience I could have ever had. Angela helped me through the pre-op process, and she continued my care in recovery. I don’t exactly know how she manages to find the perfect balance between professional, personal, dignifying, efficient but never rushed – all while being warm in a way that can be described as a “professional nurturer.” I noticed that her badge also read preceptor, and I have to say I cannot imagine a better nurse to be a preceptor for new hires and/or recent graduates. Angela has now set a new high bar in my mind for “standard of care.” I couldn’t agree more that Angela sets the bar high. Her humble response to this feedback was, “that’s how I strive to treat all my patients”. We should all aspire to be like Angela.
