She didn’t miss a thing, she treated them ALL with kindness, respect, advocated for them, kept them safe, made them ALL feel like they were important and special. That's what all patients need.
My dad was a patient at Mercy North Iowa for four long months. He had endocarditis, a valve replacement, and then back surgery. He spent a large chunk of time at the Skilled Unit between the two surgeries. Although EVERYONE in Mason City that he encountered did an AMAZING job, Jeanne Kahl just stuck out a little above the rest. She was extremely thorough, went out of her way to make sure things were taken care of, and made him feel safe and like he was in great hands. I am his daughter, and medical POA. So I was there for every minute of his stay. (I’m from South Carolina.) I am also a travel nurse, so I took an assignment at Skilled, where he was. So being the daughter of a patient, AND a behind the scenes temporary employee with Jeanne- not only did I see her go above and beyond for my dad, but I watched her do it for ALL of her patients. She didn’t miss a thing, she treated them ALL with kindness, respect, advocated for them, kept them safe, made them ALL feel like they were important and special. That's what all patients need. My dad was impressed by everyone- but was extremely impressed with Jeanne’s care. I want to thank everyone for the great care while he was in Mason City, but I especially want Jeanne recognized for her outstanding bedside manner and nursing expertise. I’ve been a nurse for 33 years, and you know a DAISY Nurse when you see one. Please recognize her and please tell her thank you from my dad and myself.
