My husband came into the emergency room with excruciating pain. He is a heart patient, and we were extremely concerned that something was going on with his heart. He was admitted. Once we arrived at 5 West, the first person in the room was Krista. She arrived right as they were wheeling him into the room.

The first thing I noticed about her was the sincere warmth and compassion in her eyes. She has never hesitated to answer my question and Lord knows I had plenty. She told me to ask anything, and she would answer, and that was exactly what she had done. She is a nurse who comes in regularly to check on her patients and never comes without a smile or willingness to do whatever is needed. She truly has a calling. More than that, she has a passion for people that comes from her heart. That is truly a blessing to her patients.

I can truly say I have never had a nurse for any of my loved ones or myself who had so much compassion for her patients and their families. I was truly able to go home that night and rest because of her. I left my phone number and told her to call me if there were any changes. We lucked out and had Krista the next morning as his nurse for the day shift. He had a heart cath done that morning, and like clockwork, she was there attending to his every need with a smile and words of encouragement. I never once went down the hall and saw her sitting at the desk. She was always in a room tending to her patients and their needs. There are not enough words of appreciation that can be said about how blessed we were to be under her care and compassion.
