On my darkest day, she brought levity, ice, and meds that required a lot of attention and made me feel that only I mattered.
Every once in a while, you get the privilege of meeting an angel during your darkest times. As a nurse myself, I am very aware I make a horrible patient. Jaspreet introduced herself on a Saturday, arguably one of my worst days. In pain, grumpy, and surely not at my best, she took the time to calm my fears and work diligently with her heart. She shared antidotes, addressed all my concerns, and did not once act bothered or upset. Watching her interact with her peers with a smile and the patience of an angel made me reflect on why nurses, a title I am proud to have, is a work of heart. On my darkest day, she brought levity, ice, and meds that required a lot of attention and made me feel that only I mattered. She is so deserving of this recognition. I have been an RN for nearly two decades, and she has made me take a step back and re-align. I am in awe of the work ethic, love, and care I received, especially considering my temperament in pain. Her bedside manner and her unbothered and reassuring demeanor brought me back down. She exemplifies all the qualities of a DAISY Nurse.
