She spoke directly to our daughter. Which she told us she was going to do! I thought this was so important, and I could tell our daughter really liked it.
My 12-year-old daughter was extremely nervous about her upcoming surgery. Together we choose the route of having an IV placed for her. She was very tearful knowing what was to come. Getting her first IV. She has been a hard stick when it comes to drawing her blood, so I was worried as well. The minute Lacy walked in the door, she brought relief to us with her big smile and kind greeting. She spoke directly to our daughter. Which she told us she was going to do! I thought this was so important, and I could tell our daughter really liked it. Even at 12, this is important to have personal communication. I could see it in my daughter’s face she was happy to answer for herself the questions Lacy had for her. And Lacy spoke her through the whole process! So nice and gentle. She looked at one arm and then the other. She was very comforting and took her time. Lacy got that IV in on the first try and my daughter didn’t even flinch! Thank you for being amazing, Lacy!

Note: This is Lacy's 2nd DAISY Award!
