During change of shift, the previous nurse told me that Karla was the head nurse and was going to help me and take very good care of me. I told Karla that I told my nurse that I wanted to sign out AMA due to the excellent care provided over the weekend. Karla went above and beyond to expedite my d/c without me signing out AMA. She took the time to educate me as to why signing out AMA was not the best option, especially since I was recently discharged from the hospital. I am very glad I listened to Karla and made me wait so that I could get the medications I needed, especially my antibiotics. I can see why Karla is the head nurse of the unit. She really cares for her patients and goes above and beyond to address their needs. Karla also updated me as she found updates from the other doctors who were seeing me. She and the rest of the staff should be recognized. Really enjoyed being a patient on 3W.
