Being transferred out, and given a bad prognosis, my grandmother could only say one thing, "That nurse was too good to us, I have never experienced better and doubt I ever will again."
My Grandfather was transferred to NRMC ER after suffering a stroke. He has been battling with Parkinson's for years, and it's been hardest on my grandmother. She is not easy to get along with and next to impossible to please. Corey was our nurse from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. He displayed care not only for my grandfather's situation but also my grandmother. He made sure everything was explained to us in a simple matter that wasn't hard to understand. He took every jab my grandmother tried to throw at him and turned it into a positive, encouraging, caring response. There have been too many times to count when we have left a doctor's appointment or facility when my grandmother has made nothing but complaints, but leaving the ER the next morning, being transferred out, and given a bad prognosis, my grandmother could only say one thing, "That nurse was too good to us, I have never experienced better and doubt I ever will again." Coming from her, this deserves to be remembered, and Corey deserves all the recognition possible for walking us through this difficult time and finding a way to make one of those people who are never satisfied not just that but happy and content despite knowing Gran was not coming home. My family will always be grateful to him for this experience.
