He was in so much pain and Tally called the doctor and said she thought he needed a different med and the doctor changed it.
Our son was admitted to MC for the first time and admitted to 5C with gallbladder problems and acute pancreatitis. He had never been in the hospital and was so sick. We had great nurses, and a couple were amazing. Tally Neher was a true champion for our son. He was in so much pain and Tally called the doctor and said she thought he needed a different med and the doctor changed it. She became a family instead of a nurse. She always went the extra mile telling us exactly what she was doing and why! She made sure he had ice chips and explained why ERCP surgery was put off. She got him a breathing spirometer on her own because he was staying in bed and noticed tests showed his lungs were not strong and his voice tired and raspy. She always looked for any way to help him. He lost 20-25 pounds during his stay. She always kept us calm and showed how much she cared. They put in a feeding tube and explained what to expect. So, I can’t truly express how much she helped us in all the little things that mean so much to your patients.
She is the perfect example of what nursing is all about. With all the patients she helped, she always had time for us. The nurses on 5C are family and we love them because they loved us and made our stay a blessed time! We had to return to Moses Cone thereafter. When the doctor admitted us from the ER, we asked for 5C unit but it was not available so we were given 2W unit - and who was there? Tally. She was not our nurse but came to see us. We were moved to 5C unit on July 30th and Tally was our nurse. So amazing! Can I say there is an energy on 5C unit that cannot be beat? The head nurse of the floor came to visit on our first visit and we asked to see her. We told her about Tally and what an amazing job she did. One day, our son was having a hard day and Tally came in. She had a pep talk with our son after her shift. Amazing again! She is a champion for Moses Cone! Keep her!
