With the ever-advancing use of technology within the world of managing Type 1 diabetes comes barriers and inequalities. Many children and young people require a compatible smartphone to use the newer technologies, and as a team, we recognize this is not equally accessible to all. Sarah has worked incredibly hard to source mobile phones for our children and young people, putting our patients first to ensure we offer a fair and equitable service to all.

Sarah wrote multiple applications to various organizations, projects, and charities and, despite many knockbacks and rejections, did not give up! Finally, Sarah was successful in securing a small number of mobile phones to support our equal access to technology project. This has also led to a further donation of mobile phones, so we are now able to support further families' access to the latest technology to help manage their diabetes. Sarah has gone above and beyond to help support our families. With her persistence and resilience, she has helped a number of families access technology that would otherwise not have been able to access it due to cost.
