I have been meaning to write this nomination since November 2023! I am a nurse here in the ED and turned into a patient after I got some weird illness. I was admitted to ACU and cannot say enough great things about the staff but especially Emilio. He was fabulous! He took the time to talk to my parents through everything he was doing and the medications he was giving me. Emilio was extremely patient, caring, and attentive. My dad even said the only reason I didn't complain all night was because of Emilio. I really enjoyed him as my nurse and as a person. I was having a lot of anxiety one evening, and Emilio took the time to talk me through it and get me in a better mindset. He was timely and proactive, and his soft-spoken nature was what I needed. He is just a wonderful and well-rounded individual. He advocated for me when my pain progressed, and when I was anxious, he didn't 'blow-off' my needs.

I have been thinking about him and his amazing care since November. My parents even talk about him and how he made THE DIFFERENCE in my stay. He is so deserving of this award. My care was top-notch, but Emilio truly stands out. When I am working in the ED, and a patient is being admitted, and I see Emilio is their nurse, I have no doubt in my mind that they will be taken care of and receive exceptional nursing care. Please give him this award -- he has earned it!
