I was tempted to single out a couple of nurses who cared for my guy (Andrea & Demi), but I realize it would be grossly unfair. Although their care certainly checked ALL the boxes of criteria for the DAISY Award, our experience spans 30+ days in the ICU, and many staff members served to care (if not save my loved one's life on occasion). Quite a few nurses, aids, and therapists took care of him daily over the course and still are today as I write this. I hope that he will go on from here, as an amazing example of a fighter who did not give up, and neither did his nurses here at Baxter Regional. Andrea, Demi, Kandace, David, Will, Kaylee, Brooke, Paige, Jacquie, Hannah, Jo Lynn, Sydney, Devin, Tom, Janet, Jose, Julie, Roy, Margot. This list is perhaps not complete! My loved one and I are forever changed by the wonderful care here in the ICU Dept. Although I have my "favorites," each nurse that was on duty contributed and was a joy to meet. It would be an honor for them to receive the DAISY Team Award. They deserve it. They have saved both of us every day in the small and life-saving measures.
