Marlene stayed kind and smiling the entire time. She started digging a little deeper by asking questions, and my husband and I are so thankful she did.
In September, I had to bring my husband to the ER for extremely high blood pressure, chest pains, and shortness of breath. During his care, he started getting anxious, at times, almost hyperventilating. The staff were very caring and right there when we needed them. One nurse, Marlene, really stood out. She was actually an angel in scrubs.
As Marlene was giving my husband medication to drop his blood pressure, she noticed it wasn’t really helping. She sat with my husband and me - talking him through his anxiety attack. While I know it was probably frustrating, she never once showed any frustration. Marlene stayed kind and smiling the entire time. She started digging a little deeper by asking questions, and my husband and I are so thankful she did. By her asking questions, it triggered my husband’s mind, and he remembered that there was a specific medication he was supposed to be taking, but because his provider was no longer in Arkansas, he hadn’t been taking it. Long story short, him not having that medication led up to the issues he was experiencing. A BIG thank you to Marlene for caring enough to ask questions. He is now back on that medication and hopefully back on track to a great recovery!
