He is committed to ensuring that everyone who enters the clinic’s doors is treated with respect and dignity.
Ryan is simply an extraordinary leader! He leads with genuine compassion and an incredible sense of advocacy for staff, patients, providers, and the community. He is also a supportive colleague. On any day, you can see Ryan working alongside his staff or talking with staff and providers about what is happening in the clinic. He is a servant leader who understands the mission of UNMH and supports it in all he does! Over the last year, he has expanded transgender care at the Southeast Heights Clinic. This important clinic expansion required numerous meetings with key stakeholders both at the Health System and clinic levels and an incredible time investment. He approached this work with enthusiasm and inquiry.
Additionally, he recently led a team to integrate the One Hope clinic at Southeast Heights. This program had been serving the immigrant community in the International District for many years and needed new clinic space. Ryan never hesitated; he offered to start the work of supporting One Hope’s mission at Southeast Heights.
A week ago, the clinic started seeing patients, and the positive energy was palpable. With Ryan’s leadership, the clinic was able to bring together medical students, pharmacy students, residents, physicians, clinic staff, community support workers, and others who are integral in continuing this work. Ryan embodies the meaning of the DAISY Award. He is committed to ensuring that everyone who enters the clinic’s doors is treated with respect and dignity. His dedication, not only to UNMH but the broader community, is impressive and should be recognized
