He was instrumental in making a miserable situation tolerable. His attention to detail instilled confidence that I was getting the best care and treatments.
This letter is to express my gratitude and praise for LT Christopher Castillo, an RN at Madigan. I can confidently say he is one of the very best healthcare providers I have met in my entire life!
I am 67 and have been treated by many providers in many states over the years at private clinics and military hospitals. Most of the providers have been good, some very good, but a rare few stand above the rest, LT Castillo is one of them. He excels.
I had a hernia surgery at Madigan, and it didn't go well, so I was admitted. Throughout the night, I had a high fever, sweats, chills, and uncontrolled shaking. I could not sleep. The doctors were befuddled. I had CT scans, X-rays, and many blood tests. Throughout the long, miserable night, LT Castillo was at my side. He was instrumental in making a miserable situation tolerable. His attention to detail instilled confidence that I was getting the best care and treatments. I could see his focus and intensity as he carefully counted, checked, and double-checked all the IVs. Additionally, his conversation was key in keeping me engaged and distracting me from my pain and discomfort. Never once during the long terrible night did he ever appear to be tired or sleepy and he always exhibited alertness, attentiveness, confidence kindness and friendship. He is a true DAISY Nurse.
