I’m nominating Ashley because in one of the scariest times in our life, when our son’s life was in danger, God sent her to us. B was her first major trauma baby, and she saved his life. There were other staff members that, of course, we have to thank, but as a Momma who lives and breathes for her children, I couldn’t be what he needed at that moment. She was. She was his saving grace. Ashley was everything he needed and everything I needed. I trusted her. I will always trust her with our son. For any parent who is in the NICU with their child feeling helpless, please know we were there. We were there for 40 days, and when you have somebody like Ashley, you know everything is going to be all right. Ashley is compassionate, positive, and a ray of sunshine in those scary halls. She is dependable, has amazing communication skills, and will talk through anything with you. She will answer any questions. Ashley has a calming presence about her. She is very knowledgeable. Lastly, she will always be my son’s second mom because in my eyes only a mom could care as much as she did, that type of love can’t be taught.
