Jane did all the necessary training, and I was terrified when the day came for the operation. Jane has a very calming and positive demeanour and, at my request, held my hand during the procedure.
Jane is the Pulmonary Hypertension Clinical nurse at the Royal Hobart Hospital. I believe Jane is a truly kind, compassionate and incredibly knowledgeable nurse who deserves recognition for the unwavering dedication to her role.

I first met Jane in 2017 during extensive testing where I was diagnosed with Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension. Jane was incredibly compassionate and comforting to what my family and I were going through during this time and learning about this disease. After several years of trialing different drugs, it was recommended to have a Hickman line permanently installed into my chest. Jane did all the necessary training, and I was terrified when the day came for the operation. Jane has a very calming and positive demeanour and, at my request, held my hand during the procedure. 7 years have now passed, and without Jane always there to answer any questions and reassure me and my husband/carer that we were doing fine, I am sure it would not have been as successful.

In my experience most nurses & medical professionals know very little of my condition and infusion and Jane is always ready to educate and share her knowledge. She attends regular interstate conferences in order to be at the top of her game with up to date information. I am now awaiting a double lung transplant and I have Jane and my doctor to thank for helping me to get here.

Other patients who Jane has helped sing her praises, too. I would love for Jane to be recognised as the true saint she is. When my condition gets on top of me, I often say, "I need a Jane fix.” She has a way of putting a positive spin on life and always encourages me to keep on keeping on.
